Work-family conflict is an irrespective universal
issue of the countries and cultures in all over the world. Work-family conflict
defined as the degree of incompatibility between work and family lives. It’s a
one of the significant problem in organizational environment. When a working
person has problems in the incompatibility between the demand of work and
demand of family, this situation refers to work family conflict. In different

Greenhaus and Beutell, (1985) defined work family
conflict as a form of inter-role conflict where the pressure from both the work
and family are incompatible manner. When the demand of work and family are
mismatched in some degree then the work family conflict occurs. It also occurs when
one role affects one’s ability to complete another role’s demand which is
related with another field.  Jacque L.
King, (2013) defines when the domain of work and the domain of family are
incompatible to each other. When the participation of one domain affects the
participation of another domain difficult then the conflict arises. Work family
conflict does have negative effects on the employees, their families and work
organizations.

Greenhaus and Beutell (1985) stated that the
influence of work and family on each other can be both in positive and negative
ways. The influences are time, tasks, attitudes, stress, emotions and behaviors
which are let out on the work and family. WFC can result in two types of
direction one is family can interfere with work and work can interfere with
family. There are three forms of work family conflict which are time based
conflict, strain based conflict and behavior based conflict.  Time based conflict occurred when one role is
unable to fulfill the demand of another role due to pressure of time. Strain
based conflict occurs when the strain affects the performance of one role to
the other roles performance. When behavioral pattern are incompatible between
two roles then behavioral based conflict occurs. Aminah Ahmed (2004) stated
that there are 3 types of indicators which are job related, family related and
individual related cause WFC.

There are several studies which founded that the
negative effects of work family conflict as work family conflict has influence
of   the physical, the well-being of
workers, behavioral and other aspect of the workers life .Job stresses
including lower job satisfaction are the negative outcomes of conflict in terms
of work family conflict. Some researches shows that there are interferences
between family life and job life which are related to irritation, depression and
anxiety especially in married female managers.
