Formation is aided by a hormone called thrombopoietin.Function: Thrombocytes aid in the process of hemostasis. Along vessel walls is a special coating called The Endothelium. When this layer is broken from an injury it attracts the  thrombocytes, effectively creating a seal around the hole and stopping the bleeding.Structure: A single thrombocyte is extremely small.It does not contain a nucleus so it is not even a cell, it is a fragment of the much bigger megakaryocyte.When they are activated they change shape from a irregular shape to round extended filaments.Normal range:Normal range for thrombocytes is between 150,000 to 450,000 Thrombocytosis is a condition where the bone marrow produces to many thrombocytes and leaves the patient at risk for embolisms and blood clots.Aspirin and other blood thinners can counteract this disorder by blocking an enzyme that allows these clots to form.Interesting facts: There are 1 trillion thrombocytes circulating the human body,1 million platelets are made a second, Placed end to end your platelets would stretch across Europe.           Section 3: LeukocytesEosinophilsSize: Eosinophils are 12 to 17 micrometers long.Life Span:
