Media psychology is one of the branch of psychology that concentrate on the connection between media and human behavior. Mainly, in this field professionals study violence in media and how people interact with media and also study that how people interact with each other because of influence of media and how it affects us and what changes should come in media to give us better experience. Today, majority of the people need media in many ways so media psychology is necessary for many reasons. Media use this study to create their content better like television shows even marketing and advertising companies also uses media psychology studies to create more powerful advertisements which help the economy. This field of study can also be used to judge that how we perceive some elements of media. The story of media psychology began in the 1950’s, when television was becoming fashionable or popularized and in that time psychologists focused on children and television viewing and the research was conducted to discover that how this viewing affected on children. And today, this is also affecting children like if we take an example of violent content shows or criminal shows and news reporting sometimes these sort of content affects badly because children adopt the negative side of the shows. For example, news channels conduct shows which based on criminals and their work and at the end of these shows police or the authorities take actions against the criminals or arrest them but these shows the criminal’s work too that how they do and all the procedure and unfortunately, children also adopt these so these kind of shows affecting people, particularly for children these are harmful.
