How I Spent my Last Holiday
This Christmas holiday is one I’ll never forget..At first I thought the holiday would be boring, because It was short and I was going to travel to my village. I thought I would be looking forward to my resumption in school, but I got things wrong. I can say that I really enjoyed my Christmas holiday.
At first it was quite boring , but when so many of my relatives started coming home for the Christmas holiday, I projected my holiday as being fun….
The fun started on the the 23rd of December right from when I was on my way to Benue. I drove there with my younger brother. We spent about six hours on the road. While we were on the road, we saw different accidents but fortunately for us, we were not part. I enjoyed the road trip because I had the opportunity to drive myself all the way which made it even more fun.
When we got to Benue, we were welcomed with a wonderful surprise. This surprise was a new house built by my dad. The House was so beautiful and had very nice architectural design. Our house was in a really good condition. There were six rooms, 7 huge bathrooms, terrace with jacuzzi and a very big swimming-pool behind the House. The house was near the cultural center where there were palm wine and bush meat bars. Whenever I go to my grandmas house and I’m returning late at night, quite tired and hungry, I usually stop by for a fresh glass of palm wine and bushmeat. During may one weeek stay, I met a lot of interesting and kind villagers who showed me allot of new things and also made me try allot of new things. In fact, I spent most of my time hanging out with them. I saw allot of masquerades who . They have become my friends. We were building sandcastles, we were swimming, we visited many interesting places and we were sunbathing. We were also doing many wild things, it was unforgettable. The weather was great- every morning I was waking up to a deep blue sky and blazing sun. Only one day it was raining, but the rain was quite warm.
I enjoyed my holidays. It was great for my health. I was lying on a beach and relaxing… All tensions disappeared. This year’s holidays were worth remembering.
My last holiday was moderately amazing. I went nowhere, but I had lovely holiday in my house. I spent joyful times with my best friends, or rather my books.
The Muslim thinker Malek Ibn Nabbi said: “A book is a message we sent to our unknown friends around the world”. I agree with him. While I am reading Ali Ezzat Bigovitch’s book, I can see him sitting right in front of me, sharing his thoughts, experiences, and feelings with me.
People might think that I am crazy, but I know I am not. Living in a different world, and experiencing new things every single day is what drives me to read more and more. I traveled more than anyone in the last holiday. I went to US, Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, and Algeria.
Do you know that I have never been in a plane before?
Although I spent a lot of time in US by reading ‘Forged Paradise Regained Paradise’ and I went to Jordan by reading a novel which was written by my favorite writer. Going to Turkey wasn’t so hard through ’40 rules of love’ by Elef Shafk. Finally I ‘escaped to my freedom’ with Ali Ezzat Bigovitch to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
My best friends taught me that I can travel to so many places without moving my feet. My mind, my soul, and my heart will keep traveling all around the world, visiting new places, and meeting new people.
