Another Social Media) especially Instagram and they have impact

new marketing trend is the Influencers who are becoming the most effective ways
to attract customers. Influencers are people who have large number of followers
on their online platforms (blogs, websites and Social Media) especially
Instagram and they have impact on their followers and trusted by them. Usually,
consumers trust recommendations from a third party (influencers) more than the
brand itself. According to the “Why Marketing Influencers?” article, written by
Jennifer Yemu Li Chiang, cofounder of MuseFind, influencers on Instagram get on
average two to five times more organic engagement per post compared to those
over 100,000 followers. It added that the word by mouth marketing generates
twice the sales as paid advertisement. However, influencers shouldn’t be chosen
blindly, but it must be aligned with an overall marketing strategy including
content and brand image. Marketers should define their target audience and then
choose the right influencers to promote their products and services through the
influencer’s platforms. Scott Cook, the founder and CEO of Intuit, said that “A
brand is no longer what we tell the consumer it is, it is what consumers tell
each other it is.” Likewise, Rachel Levin, a social media influencer with 20
million followers believes that it will be rare for any brand to launch a
campaign that doesn’t involve at least one social media influencer.

Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) are also considered new trends of
marketing. According to Goldman Sachs Research, (VR) and (AR) have the
potential to become the next big computing platform. Also, IDC expected that 30%
of global 2000 companies would experiment with AR/VR as part of their marketing
efforts in 2017. Virtual reality is experiencing an interactive 3D world,
created by a computer, that doesn’t really exist but can be explored by the
audience through special headset so they feel they are really there, both
mentally and physically. Today, major brands are competing to be at the
forefront of the VR trend. For example, Facebook has announced the beta version
of Facebook Spaces with which people can create a virtual version of themselves
and interact with friends in a virtual world. Virtual reality allows the
audience to interact with the brand, whether it’s a product, a service, or even
a cause, in a personal and unique experiential way. Game of Thrones TV series
used VR to allow viewers to have a fictional experience by virtually placing
them in familiar scenarios from the series, where they feel like they are
participating in the show and not watching it. Volvo is another example of
brands using virtual reality in marketing. They promoted the new XC90 car
through their Volvo Reality App where customers can have a unique test drive
experience. On the other hand, Augmented reality is about integrating graphics
into real-world environments by enhancing what people see, hear, feel and smell
using the camera of their devices. Customers can find more about a product or
service by just looking at the product through the camera of the device, as if
it is in front of them for real. Apple is planning to launch a new iPhone with
ARkit platform that will allow developers and brands to create branded AR apps.
Also, Facebook has recently opened a set of tools called AR Studio. As an
example of the brands using AR is L’Oréal, which has Makeup Genius and Style My
Hair AR apps that let the users apply makeup and hair looks to their photos
before purchasing a product. Lubomira Rochet, L’Oréal’s chief digital officer,
said that “It’s an immense source of data in terms of understanding what
consumers like, what they like less in terms of colors, looks, textures.”
