The Michigan Boer Goat Association Scholarship Program is designed to promote and encourage educational enhancement of young Boer Goat Breeders, whom will be our industry leaders in the future, by awarding annual scholarships.
This program is open to any active MBGA, Inc. Member or direct family member. Applicants must be either a high school senior or a college student in the fall of the Year in which the application is made. Winners will be recognized at the “Annual Christmas meeting” held in December. Upon notification the recipients are asked to attend meeting for distribution of awards, but attendance is not mandatory.

___ Include farm name that is a member and your relationship to that MBGA, Inc. member
Application Guidelines:

Applicants must be members of the MBGA, Inc. and/or an immediate member of an MBGA, Inc. Member Family.

The applicant must be either a high school senior or a college student in the fall of the Year in which the application is made. Winners will be recognized at the “Annual Christmas Meeting” held in December. Upon notification the recipients are asked to attend meeting for distribution of awards.

The MBGA, INC. Scholarship Committee Members, will select the recipient. Scholarship Committee’s decision’ will be final.

A recipient can re-apply with a new application annually (up to maximum of 4 years). You must remain enrolled and attending college. 1 (one) $500.00 Scholarship will be given out annually and are subject to change, based on the available funds with in the MBGA, Inc. Scholarship allowances/budgets for that particular year.

If selected to receive a scholarship by the Michigan Boer Goat Association Scholarship Committee, the scholarship applicant will be required to verify their enrollment in an Institution of higher education by application deadline before the scholarship award check is awarded.

Failure to meet enrollment requirements will result in forfeiture of the scholarship and any monies distributed will be requested to be refunded to the MBGA, Inc.
Application Procedure and Instructions:

All Scholarship Application s must be typewritten using a typewriter, word processor or computer to complete the application.

Your application must include a copy of your most current high school and/or College transcript. An unofficial fall semester transcript is acceptable as well. The transcripts and ACT/SAT Test Scores must be included with the Scholarship Application when mailed to the Michigan Boer Goat Association, Inc., Transcripts and ACT/SAT test scores sent separate from the Scholarship Application will not be accepted.

Your application must include 2 (two) letters of recommendation, a resume, and ACT/SAT Test Scores. Recommendations may come from employers, teachers, pastors, Ag-leaders, junior advisors, etc. They may not include applicants, parents, or the Michigan Boer Goat Association Board of Directors.

The letter of recommendations, resume, and scholastic transcripts are must be mailed together with the official Scholarship Application. Consideration for scholarship will not be accepted, if the required documents are received separately.

November 19th, 2012, is the deadline for mailing applications. Materiels mailed must be postmarked by the United States Postal Service, on or before, Monday November 19, 2012.

Scholarship – Recipients – 2012
Congratulations to Crista Crawford & Jason Fryman, the MBGA Scholarship Recipients for 2012.
Crista, a sophomore, is currently attending Michigan State University; while, Jason, a senior, attends Adrian College.
As winners, they both received a $500.00 Education Scholarship, which were awarded at the 2011 December Holiday Membership Meeting that was held on December 10, 2011.
We Are Very Proud Of Our Michigan Youth In The Boer Goat Industry.
