Whats New @ MBGA

Hello MBGA Members,

We are starting to vamp up for 2017 season. The only way we can keep the meat goat industry moving forward in the state of Michigan is we need your commitment and support. We need you to be active in our different committees, it doesn’t matter if you don’t show or only have a commercial herd, any new and fresh ideas are always welcome. We’d also like to say thank you to all of you who have been a committee member past and present. Without you we’d be dead in the water. We do have board of directors spots coming up for 2017 as well. We’ll vote on these at the fall meeting and goat roast. If you think you’d like to be a part of the board of directors and can’t make it this next weekend please let me know so I can put your name in the hat. Also, if you want to be part of the committees for 2017 and can’t make it let me know and we will get you on the list. I do know we have a few open chairperson spots for our different committees for 2017 that will become available. Like our youth show committee. After 6 years of dedication, of putting her heart and soul into making the youth program what it is today, Tina Esham has decided to step down as the chairperson for 2017 to focus on building her farm. We want to say thank you for everything she has done in getting the Youth Challenge up and running. She will be there to help with the hand off to the new chairperson. If you’re interested or know of someone please let me know. Let’s make 2017 the best year yet for the goat industry in Michigan.

Thank you,
Jason Gleason
President of the MBGA

Show – Committee News

News and More from the MBGA Show Committee

(March 21, 2013)

The 2013 MBGA show committee has added a Youth Representative position to the Show Committee for this coming show season.

Due to popular demand, and our commitment to continue growing the MBGA Wether Series program, we will select two representatives to work with the Show Committee in making the vital decisions regarding the series and other events throughout the year.  We value the input and commitment of our youth in the Series, and want to make them more involved in the process for the future.

This opportunity for our youth, will give them a chance to learn the time and effort that goes into putting on the series each year, and teach them life skills that will help them in their future.  The applicants will be selected based on the response of the two questions on the application and their past involvement in the series and the MBGA.

The term held by the chosen applicants will be one year and run May of the current year to April of the next year.

Interested applicants should fill out an application and send it to the listed contact by 29th 2013.  CLICK HERE for details & Application form
